Welcome! To this new revised web site, which is meant to achieve two objectives.

1. To find the best way(s) to preserve the heritage of our common ancestors, the Old Settlers or Western Cherokees — specifically, that group of them who did not remove
   to Indian Territory in 1838, but stayed behind and lived “underground” as Black Dutch, Mexican or whatever, slowly becoming part of White culture.
   
2. To use this web site as the beginning means of communication, to register your opinions(s)
   on the best way(s) to achieve the first objective. All submissions will be published verbatim, except:
   1. No political statements are allowed. The web site is meant to unify our common Cherokee heritage, whether you are Democrat, Republican, Libertarian, Independent,
      or whatever.
   2. No personal attacks are allowed on the web site. You can differ with someone’s opinion without attacking him or her personally. Examples of personal attacks include questioning someone’s character instead of addressing the issue.
